Memorial posters are generally used to display the deceased's likeness when (1) the remains are not going to be on view at the funeral service or family hour, (2) when the remains are not available (such as direct cremations prior to the memorial service or the remains are displayed in an urn after cremation, (3) when there is a graveside service only.
Typically, the poster is mounted on an easel, which is usually supplied by the facility where the service is to take place, such as a funeral home or house of worship.
